First launched in 2011, the new and improved Dubai Ferry route now transports passengers between Dubai Marina and Dubai Creek combining panoramic views of Dubai's modern skyline with traditional sights of old Dubai.
With a choice of 6 departure times; 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 6:30pm, the new RTA Dubai Ferry timetable provides visitors with ample opportunity to explore Dubai at a variety of times throughout of the day. We chose the 11am voyage to make the most of our day and give us plenty of time to explore old Dubai once we docked.
On the morning of our river cruise, what should have been a leisurely walk to the Dubai Marina ferry station turned into a mad dash when we found ourselves on the wrong side of the creek, fortunately we managed to buy our tickets and get on board with only minutes to spare.
Once safely on board I was surprised, and a little disappointed, to discover the ferry only had indoor seating but thankfully we were allowed to wander freely around the cabin and use the outside area at the back of the vessel to take in the sights and maximise photo opportunities.
The Dubai Ferry experience took just over an hour which was more than enough time to enjoy the sights and photograph Dubai's popular skyline featuring popular landmarks including the Burj Al Arab, the Palm, the Atlantis, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Creek.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the Dubai Ferry experience. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a chilled out and cost effective way to experience picture perfect views of Dubai.
