I'll be honest, the Latitude Brunch wasn't one of our first choices as we'd always been put off by its family-friendly reputation. But after discovering that all of our preferred brunches were fully booked (due to Easter weekend) we decided to give it a try.
Housed within the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, one of my all-time favourite hotels in Dubai, the Latitude Brunch had no trouble living up to the Jumeirah Group's reputation for luxury and extravagance. From the moment we entered the Hotel's foyer it was evident they'd gone all out as we'd found ourselves in the midst of an Easter extravaganza. With impressive bunny-shaped flower formations, giant egg statues, children's entertainers and 'free' Easter gifts to keep the kids amused, the Hotel definitely had the Easter celebrations covered.
The Latitude Brunch started at 1pm so after a short wait we were welcomed into the Latitude restaurant with a complimentary glass pink sparkling wine before being quickly ushered to our tables for the for the fun to begin - the perfect start to an extremely enjoyable day.
As a fussy eater one my primary concerns when selecting a brunch is whether or not there will be enough food I can actually eat. Thankfully Latitude Brunch had an amazing selection of food to suit all culinary tastes. Spread over two sections, the buffet brunch included include a wide selection of cuisines including Japanese, Thai, Lebanese, Indian and traditional European dishes. I certainly didn't leave the brunch feeling hungry which has happened on a couple of occasions.
Whilst the Latitude Brunch was tame compared to some of the more livelier brunches we've tried (Saffron, Bubblicious and Warehouse) it was thoroughly enjoyable day.
The only real complaint we had was the lack of post brunch venue. Unlike a number of other popular brunches in Dubai there was no official post-brunch party. All was not lost - we arranged our own courtesy of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel's Uptown Bar which offered up superior views across Jumeirah.
If you are looking for a family-oriented, sophisticated or more laid back brunch, I would definitely recommend Latitude Brunch - it definitely exceeded all of our expectations.
